About Us
How It Began
From Passion to Purpose
My creative journey began at 5 years old, inspired by my older sister and the stories we weaved together. She encouraged me to explore the art of storytelling through writing, and I was anxious to follow in her footsteps. She acted as both my teacher and mentor in writing for many years.
Later in life, once I got my hands on a computer, I found another way to tell stories — music videos that I created using Windows Movie Maker. But I didn’t really understand the power of storytelling through video editing until COVID started. My sister and I had been teaching a Creative Writing workshop for several years that got cancelled during COVID, so we started a YouTube channel together. Through editing our educational content, I discovered that this was another way to share my ideas, my visions, and my story.
Rewind to 2019. I felt shackled to my cubicle. I had spent years dreaming about what my life would be like if I was able to start my own business and actually use my creativity. But by April of 2019, I didn’t think it was possible. I had been fired from my position a month before my wedding. I felt betrayed. I felt angry. I felt defeated. I regretted everything I had said in opposition to leadership. I regretted putting my health before the needs of the company. I felt like I was being punished for trying to stand up for myself and others. I almost cancelled the honeymoon, afraid to spend money after losing my job.
Thankfully, I was convinced to go on the honeymoon, and when I came back, I pounded the pavement, determined to get a new job and prove everyone who doubted me wrong. I was lucky to have a friend who gave me a referral and to get an interview when there were numerous needs. But I wasn’t the same. I went into my new office job quieter, meeker. I was afraid. I was broken.
I was moved around a few times to fill business needs, and at some point in that chaos, I was assigned to a manager that would have a profound impact on me. Through his mentorship, encouragement, and faith in me, I rebuilt my confidence. I found my voice again. I took chances, I spoke up for myself and my team, I called out unfair treatment, I worked for change. I don’t know if anything I said or did left a substantial impact on the company after I was laid off in 2023, but it impacted ME.
I don’t think I could have started my business prior to 2024. I needed exposure to the issues in the corporate landscape, experience in a position of leadership, and confidence that I could overcome my struggles and make it happen. I owe a lot of people a debt of gratitude for helping me get where I am today — friends, family, teachers, and mentors. And just as I was helped along my creative journey, I hope that I will be able to help you along yours.
